I'd love to get behind the wheel and have a day of racing, donuts and other silly stuff, all legally, is there anywhere that I can do this in the UK or IRL?

    Please move to motors.

a sport called autotesting, although a little more precision is required than your average doughnut:

They do far better ones than Mondello, they can also do one to suit exactly what you want, you don't have to go for the set courses.

Link seems to be down tonight but it does work!

Theres a track day in mondello on paddys day and afaik there's still places available.Altho you'd be thrown out if you tried to donut or act the maggot on the track.

The same applies to the rally courses, there great fun but you cant exactly just take the car out and let rip!

Theres plenty of legal cruises in the uk where you can go in and burn your tyres out all night long, there was actually one here recently near portlaoise but alas there seems to be a grey area between land owners giving consent for it and the gardai calling for it to be insured

I got the impression that despite being on a provisional, that you had good car handling skills. If Im right - why the need to do a course?

The open track days in Mondello often have drivers who don't have much concern for their cars (cheapo motors from the buy& sell). I value my car too much to go out with these drivers.

The rally school is a blast. Mark II Escorts and Subaru Imprezas the time I went. Mind you we did spend a fair amount of time waiting around for our turns.

You can do some quite challenging courses at rally schools, main thing is that on a per-minute basis, its much cheaper than competition.

Ill be doing an intermediate/advanced later this year, not sure where though. Theres one up north that gives you an onboard vid of your drive.
