    anyone out ther know of any good coarse fishing areas in the louth monaghan area?

    Get an Ordinance Survey map of the area, particularly of Cavan. There are literally 100s of lakes, and most of them are pretty good. The game fishing isn't great, but coarse is terrific.

    theres a number of very popular lakes around carrick, probably the best know spot for coarse fishing in that area. Duffys, Ballyhoe etc, check the web for info, plenty of sites out there like http://www.monaghantourism.com/angling/
