    Hi,

Anyone here get the train from Hazelhatch to Heuston on a regular basis?

Moving to Celbridge later this year and trying to guage how packed it is at peak hours and also off-peak both to and from Dublin city centre.

    Thanks

at peak hours inbound you usually get a seat if you muscle your way onto the train first.

outbound, turn up 15-20 mins early if you want a seat, 10 mins early if you want to lean against the wall and 5 mins early if you want to be able to breath.

off peak, you will get a seat 9.5 times out of ten, unless there is some event on, or the buses have all broken down or something cataclysmic like that.

parking is also an issue, and if your driving to the station, as alot of people do, you need to get there early in the morning, ie before the earliest popular train (7.35), to get a safe spot.

if you are using the feeder bus, it is erratic at best, so dont plan your life around it.

it is handy in the evenings tho

also, if you get the train to heston, the feeder bus will take you right into the city centre for free. handy for a poor student like me

No it won't, if the ticket says Heuston it is NOT VALID, its only if your ticket is for Dublin City Centre or has IFS, LUAS or Includes Feeder Service on it, if you buy Hazelhatch Bray it is valid as the ticketing issuing system knows to calculate the correct fare

Certain student monthly and weekly tickets allow this but an ordinary return from Heuston does not
