Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    RADIO SOULWAX
presents ‘Nite Versions’ Live 2 ManyDj’s
plus special guests to be announced.
    The Ambassador Theatre, April 12th.
Tickets 33.50 euro on sale now!

SOULWAX have announced that they will play their unique RADIO SOULWAX clubnight to cities across the UK this spring, including a special date at Dublin’s Ambassador Theatre April 12th, in support of their massively acclaimed ‘Nite Versions’ album released late last year on [PIAS] Recordings.

Just as in their 2 Many DJs guise, they have brought you a new sound in clubland and a new party aesthetic to the tired art of mix compilations, Radio Soulwax nights will bring a selection of the world’s finest live acts/DJs together for a series of genre splicing, news making and cutting edge club experiences curated by the pair. The first Radio Soulwax tour was a huge success, selling out huge venues across Europe during 2005 bringing together artists & DJs like Tiga, Justice, Erol Alkan and Vitalic to name but a few, into one bombastic experience. The tours success was recently celebrated with its own Mixmag covermount CD, which cut together many of the acts performing and is already being hailed as perhaps their best free CD to date.

For these March/April shows they will bring the full Soulwax live Nite Versions experience, their incomparable 2manydjs alter egos, plus an amazing supporting line-up that will include much of dance music’s hottest properties including the likes of Who Made Who, Headman, The Presets, Simian Mobile Disco to venues across blighty, whilst for the London leg they will take over Canvas for a special Easter Weekend extravaganza that will see them curate a fuller line up set to include labelmate Tiga in what ranks as one of the best line-ups in recent history.

The ‘Nite Versions’ album featured brand new interpolations of tracks inspired by and taken from their highly acclaimed ‘Any Minute Now’ album and was inspired by the idea of extending and expanding a song to make it work on the dancefloor and on the 12” format – a la bands like Duran Duran, Talking Heads, The Human League and many of the club pioneers of the 1980’s and was seeped with praise upon its release late last year.

“A Muscular, Glamorous record that perfectly encapsulates the excitement of modern underground clubbing.”- NME

    radiosoulwax presents:
soulwax nite versions (live) & 2manydjs
plus an allstar supporting line up including: Who Made Who, The Presets, Simian Mobile Disco, Riton, Tiga and loads more to be announced.

€33.50 is a bit much all right. Could be good if Tiga or Simian Mobile Disco are supporting.

They are good (saw them at Sonar too) but at that price for a ticket!!! the support would want to be un-f**kin-real and someone else would still have to be paying for me to go

Their setlist seems to be the same everywhere they play now though. (Teenage Kicks, Song 2, Washing Up,...)

33 isn't that much considering the line-up is way more than
    just 2manydjs

The album was nothing special and yeah! €34 is too much. You wont hear anything at this gig that will rock your world. Too commercial now(the act and definitely the crowd)

I was listening to their Innercity 2005 set last night and it's was entertaining all right in fairness. Some of the tunes played were:

    Franz Ferdinand (Erol's Glam Racket)
    Soulwax - NY Lipps
    For Sale - Buy Now
Kaiser Chiefs - Everyday I Love You Less and Less (Boys Noize rmx)
    Franz and Shape - Countach
Miss Kittin - 1982 (some remix, maybe by Rother?)
    Man with Guitar
Tiga - Pleasure from the Bass
    John Starlight - John's Addiction
    Pearl Jam - Rocks Off
    Going Nowhere (Digitalism)
Prodigy - Smack my Bitch Up
    LCD - Tribulations (Tiga rmx)
    Whomadewho - Satisfaction

I saw them at the trinity ball and thought they were savage. Got a load of their sets and thought they were good. This will be the firt chance I'll get to see them since then.

Where is the best place to get their different albums and sets etc?

Just to see The Presets if they're playing much that nite would be worth €33. Anyway can't wait to see them all :)

Ive said it before but, Its a disgrace the sets they are still dishing out, its almost like a show as aposed to a DJ set, it rarely changes. Its not as if they dont know their stuff and dont have access to the latest tunes, the radio one set they did over 12 months ago was amazing at the time and it got me so excited about seeing them @ Electric picnic, but no, it was the usual "show" with one or 2 new tunes thrown in.........

2 many djs are complete and utter muck, but they play to their crowd which is predominantly people who are clueless about dance music and dont realise that theyre playing stagnant old crap from 4 years ago

the band on the other hand, are absolutely fantastic

The live sets of Nite versions are just savage, When they play "Krack" it fúcking melts the place..... at festivals Id probably still stick my head into the tent to watch them as they do normally lash one or two decent tunes among the rubbish, "For Sale - buy now" @ Electric picnic was pretty sweet last year.....

The Soulwax official website says that support for the Ambassador gig is from The Presets and Digitalism. No mention of Simian Mobile Disco.

Also, it looks like they are playing at The Savoy in Cork on Tuesday, April 18th will support from Headman.

EDIT: The Cork gig is a Heineken Green Room Sessions invite-only thing.
