..anyone know how to do this, or if it's even possible? the computer I'm at now has a DVD drive but I'm getting error messages about incompatible decoders and the like when I actually put in a DVD. is there anything on NAL or anything easily downloadable for playing them? media player's no help. :(

yeah, i might give them a go if the computer thing doesn't work out.. it just seems unpossible that there'd be thousands of computers on campus with unusable DVD drives. with the library i'd have to go in and ask for some random DVD from the library collection before i could get access to the DVD players they have and that seems unfeasibly complicated. surely it's simpler than that, y'know?

this is what i get for getting all interdisciplinary.. i should just stick to the books..

download a program called VLC from here http://www.videolan.org/mirror.php?mirror=http://mirrors.ircam.fr/pub/videolan/&file=vlc/0.8.4a/win32/vlc-0.8.4a-win32.zip

use winzip to extract the folder on to your USB stick

run it from there and pop the dvd in the drive. the user interface isn't super, so post here if you've any success/hassle with it.

VLC is a wonder program! use it for all downloaded videos movies and episodes. Every program should strive to be more like VLC!!! :D

one more question.. is this yoke region free? i went to its website but it was all "libcddb doesn't compile yet without POSIX emulation" and "Gnome (unmaintained)" and the like which is totally incomprehensible to a layperson.
