Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    i heard this on 98fm news that a fan (or group of therein) posted death threats on an online message board and are being investigated for them? is this silly?
    an imposition on free speach?
    or proper order?

    i personally wouldn't be too phased by it, lets be honest its the internet, i'm more worried by instructions on how to make bombs and child pornography than the rants of some disgruntled fan.

    After all the problem Chelsea had last season with death threat to the ref with the teeth that made him quit Chelsea will stamp down on this.

    Wouldnt say that saying youw here going to kill someone has anything to do with free speech! Wonder what the mods would do if someone done the same on here? would say a life ban? a threat to kill someone is just not funny or smart!

    another storm in the anti-chelsea teacup.

    "A letter directed at Hauge and posted on a chat room in Norway purporting to be a Chelsea fans' site said: "Congratulations on your last game as an international referee." http://uk.sports.yahoo.com/060224/2/he01.html

    now thats really serious. :rolleyes:

    So what if people posted abusive messages on the chelsea site, a lot of people , myself included, felt that he got the red card decision wrong, after the bizarre refereeing decisions that went against us in the nou camp last year, us paranoid chelsea fans are wondering whether UEFA are being rather biased in their attempts to destroy the "enemy of football". A lot of people were jokingly asking on Wednesday night what was the number to phone in their death threats this time, it's not like anyone is actually going to do anything about it, its just frustration and dissappointment from a huge result.

    next it will be "Abramovich hires Jolie-lookalike, top assassin to kill Ronaldinho ( see page 3) or " , Mourinho poisons Wengers Lucozade". More media nonsense blown out of proportion. It's not hard to find fan sites for any team that will have moronic individuals mouthing off from the safety of their PC.

    I agree with Growler. Can you really take the threat of someone on a site like here as serious? I wouldn't think you can.

    Its another tidbit that rags like The Sun are trying to exaggerate.

    Depends really. If it was a typical message-board type message like "I swear i'm gonna kill that goddamn referee after that decision" then it would be ridiculous to investigate it. However, if the message had details about how he was going to do it, like the ref's contacts numbers and home address etc, then that's different.....

    Do these sites have moderators? Say P*** Off you M*** Cu** on here and you're banned for life!

    Seriously - death-threats are being left up on a forum for any more than 5 minutes??

    It may have happened, the posts might have been up for a few minutes, but I smell more anti-Chelsea hype.

    Spot on there.

    Going by some of my lets say ''extremely disturbing posts'' on pretty much non-moderated forums I should be due the death penalty by now! :D

    As you say once personal information, contact details etc. are posted then things have to be taken very seriously.

    </sarcasm on>

    OMG OMG OMG

    throw them out of the PL,CL,FA cup....there ruining the game

    </sarcasm off>

    its gonna be fairly easy to trace who put the post on the cfc forum as to get to the main forums you have to enter your season ticket number (or membership details), all chelsea have to do is bar him from stamford bridge and give uefa his details and tell them do what they like and its all gravy

    errr no you don't , anyone can post on the chelsea chat page, and you do get a fair share of weirdos and bitter arsenal fans there too on occasion, actually I suspect it was Sol Campbell who made the death threats in order to deflect media attention.

    hmm maybe im mistaken but is there not an area for members and the like?

    if it is in a public forums its even more of a joke, i would love to see how much its cost the fa and uefa to investigate chelsea in the last 2-3 years...somebody must be making a mint

    For me 'Free Speech' breaks the law once a threat on someone's life is issued.

    To be honest I used to like Mourinho but now I find him distastefully arrogant. It used to be just a funny sort of arrogance but now it's truly distasteful.

    If he didn't start blaming the referee after that match maybe the death threats wouldn't have been issued (And remember last year with Anders Frisk?) I cannot put into words my anger at Jose for his immoral use of the media. He truly does bring the game into disrepute.

    Opinions, please.

    how much? and will you pay in advance ?

    In all fairness this is a chelsea fansite we're talking about here,( the chances are it was some 14 year old who got a chelsea shirt at Christmas after deciding that Arsenal weren't going to win much any more) not Al Qaeda, the Stazi or UVF, this is no more than virtual fist shaking, no one in their right mind should be taking this seriously, the media and uefa seem to be happy to give this disproptionate attention.
