Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hi,

Can anyone recommend a linux distro that installs easily and runs well on an Inspiron 6000 (Centrino 1.5, 1Gb ram).... Have Redhat 7.1 and it's broke my heart trying to install it (3rd failed attempt tonight so giving up). Have a 10gig partition waiting for it and would prefer to buy a distro including media off the net instead of d/loading.

    Thanks a million,

    Damo.

Ubuntu Breezy Badger ftw. I have it on this 6000 right now, and everything works ticketyboo. The widescreen resolution, hardware acceleration (such as it is with the Intel graphics), the Intel wireless (configured as eth1), the sound... you name it. It'll even resize your Windows partition during install if you want to dual boot.

I have it set up for dual boot, but I pretty much never boot Windows now. For the few Windows applications I need, I use VMware - which runs a treat in 2GB RAM.
