Is there an uninstall application? If so try that, then reinstall.

What order did you install them? Drivers then hardware. Or Hardware then drivers. Sometimes it makes a difference.

Uninstall it again, don't connect the usb lead until after you've installed the drivers, just incase wiwdows installs generic usb drivers for it.

for the USB card, the card was instaled first then driver, i know the card is okay as another device attached works fine. With the cable modem it is recognised but only as an unknown device and i don't know where to get drivers for it. I've tried NTL's website and sent an email but probably won't get any reply till next week.

Can you use ethernet? It will solve your problems.

You have a point there, an Ethernet card is very cheap.

sometimes I have to power-cycle modem after a network configuration change, try turning modem on and off.

What model modem is it? Mine came with a USB driver on a CD. Mines a 200 I think. If someone else has the driver they could email it to you.

....if you are still having problems maybe try phoning ntl tech support

they will prob get you to
    1. disconnect the usb
    2. power off the modem
    3. uninstall the drivers
    4. restart the pc
    5. install the drivers
    6. power back up the modem
    7. connect the usb cable AFTER the SYNC & READY stop flashing
    8. check if you are online
then again, you could just try this yourself seeing as I've gone to the bother of typing it

if you are still having probs then def call them
