I'm learning Japanese now - still on the very basics - but was wondering if there's anywhere online I could go to talk to people in the language, for practice and the like.

I occasionally visit Japanese chat rooms on Yahoo Chat and the like (although it's mostly non-Japanese!). You'd need more than basic Japanese to understand anything though, but it's great for learning slang and colloquial Japanese.
