    Hi All

Have been reading these posts over the last few days and been messing (Then reseting to default when completly messed up!!) on my Router:confused:

I am using Smart telecom..with a Aolynk Router
Have also checked out http://www.portforward.com/ (but a wee bit lost here)

What I would like to do is access my PC from anywhere and upload/download files..Already Use LogMeIN..very good, easy but no file transfer unless you pay
Have messed with ports and remote access, but am afried with No joy

Does Anyone use a simple system..
and what needs to be done to get this to work
I am using No-Ip to get a pretty much stable IP address but thats as far as I can get (and only to my router when accessing across the net)

    Thanks again
    Dan

You can use Remote Desktop to access your machine once your firewall is set up to allow the remote IP access and also you must forward Port 3389 to the machine's IP that you are trying to access. That's the way I have mine set up and it works a treat.

hi you can use UltraVNC download igt and install in ton you machine you want to access remotely you can get it for free here http://www.ultravnc.com/

you will need to open ports 5800 - 5900 on your router and forward to your locam machine ip

also is you smart iP dynamic or static is it is dynamic you will need to use dyndns http://www.dyndns.com/ you can down load it there you need to register and set it up.
