Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

The us version of the show is worse. It took a 3 week break, then came back for an ep, then took another few week break so seem a natural trend!

::edit:: actually just noticed theres an ep on this week but then theres another 3 week break followed by yet another 4 week fecking break so eight weeks to see 3 episodes of a "weekly show" [accordin to tv.com ep guide]

ABC have lost the plot where their schedule is concerned. All these breaks aren't doing much for a show that has already dropped the ball on last years story. Seems there's an episode in the US tomorrow, March 1st, then another on the 22nd and not another till April 12th. Source: Calendar for TV. The never ending breaks are píssing me off more than the slow storylines now.

If the bloody breaks between episodes are bothering you so much, then just wait like nearly everyone else does and watch them on RTE without the breaks. Honestly, you're getting the episodes ahead of everyone else in ways you're not supposed to and you're still complaining?

Except for next week, of course. And unless they start doubling up by May, the for the duration of the World Cup too!

I don't think we should criticise the US system too heavily - this is how it has been for decades there. Networks are finally trying out different ways of doing things - the result of running Scrubs, 24, Alias and Prison Break without interruption is finally starting to show that viewers prefer series to run without a break, but it's not likely to result in every show moving to a 22-week uninterrupted run (there'd be nothing to show in September.)

However, I do agree with Jor El that while this type of system works for a standalone show where there isn't a larger week-to-week plot, it actually isn't suiting Lost particularly well. (Just as it didn't suit 24 in the US in the past - weeks went by and they had a problem getting audiences to resume where the previous 'hour' had left off.) If Lost is going to have no choice but to work within this system, they may need to do mini-arcs that run their course in thirds, with a clear pick-up point (like the opening of the hatch).

Just to clarify, the OP means RTE's airing of 'Lost' will NOT air next week due to Oscar coverage.

ABC's coverage will go ahead this week and then we'll have an always enjoyable 3 week break!

    So just to clarify:

RTE (IRL): No Lost next Monday, will continue as usual from then on!
ABC (US): Lost this Wednesday... no more episodes til 22nd March! :(

Why should our viewing of Lost be interrupted by the Oscars anyway, it's not like the majority of us give a toss who wins, it's just a fixed backslapping ceremony, whichever studio stumps up the most cash gets the Oscar for their film.
