    Mike

    Hi Mike!

Thanks for getting in touch. Holidays in Mexico were fantastic, thanks. I'll tell you about it when I see you.

We don't have access to myspace.com at work and I'm still at audio tape age at home so you won't see me messing with a computer. I know I might be missing something but life's great still.

When are Page27 playing the Ballroom again?

For those of you who care, last night's playlist:

    1. Two Gallants “Steady Rollin’”
    2. Pretty Girls Make Graves “The Geta Way”
    3. Hood “You Show No Emotion At All”
    4. Ral Partha Vogelbacher “At The Party After The Wake”
    5. Mick Turner “Rosa I”
    6. Thee More Shallows “Freshman Thesis”
    7. The National Trust “New Sexy Touch”
    8. Jamaicans “Ba Ba Boom”
    9. Archie Bronson Outfit “Got To Get (Your Eyes)”
    10. The Zico Chain “This Thing”
    11. Archie Bronson Outfit “In The Shadow Of love”
    12. The Knife “Silent Shout” - Troy Pierce’s Barado En Locombia mix
    13. Diamond Nights “The Girl’s Attractive” – Glimmers’ extended mix
    14. David Kitt “Song From Hope Street (Brooklyn, NY)”
    15. Dios (Malos) “Old Field Recordings”
    16. Fabulous Troubadors “L’Anniversaire”
    17. Envelopes “Free Jazz”
    18. The Robocop Kraus “All The Good Men”
    19. Radar Bros “Papillon”
    20. Gilberto Gil “Casinha Feliz”
    21. The Afternoons “Rocket Summer”
    22. Gilberto Gil “Esperando Na Janela”
    23. Lupen Crook “Love 80”

And I think at this stage the computer crashed and you probably haven’t heard the rest:

    24. My Jazzy Child “Whatever You Do”
    25. Lupen Crook “Junk ‘n’ Jubilee”
    26. The Jeff Lewis Band “American Girl”
    27. Whirlwind Heat “Macho Man”

As a result of the crash, I doubt the show was recorded but that doesn’t prevent you from listening to Xfm online at: http://www.xfmdublin.com. Thanks.

Nice. I need a holiday too.

No ballroom set yet. We figure we have to have somethin released first.

Playin MB Slatterys on the 22nd of March & Crawdaddy on 12th of April but Im sure I'll see you at the 50th Ballroom anyway???

I will give you a live cd of our 3rd gig, which i think gives a better impression of us.

You are missing out a bit but I have a dial up connection which is dreadful.

Anyway good to hear from you and Take it easy.

    Mike

for coming to the gig. Hear we need a singer. You know anyone?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 420 ✭✭pastis

    Hi Mike,

No worries, I'd a good night, I liked all three acts. Sorry I didn't see you after your gig to congratulate you.
Yeah, Page27's music's really great, guitar hooks in every song (sure you'd love Girls Against Boys' "House of GVSB", if you haven't listened to it yet), but I felt they needed more powerful vocals (no offense).
I don't know any singer but maybe this thread's a good start?

    Keep us posted, good luck,

    Valery

Yeah I agree in ways. I have been looking around.
It is more fun just playing guitar.
Glad ya got yr moneys worth.

What are your xfm slots like these days?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 420 ✭✭pastis

yeah, one can tell you're very at ease playing guitar.

The show's live online at www.xfmdublin.com on Mondays between 7ish-9ish pm, and everybody's welcome to give feedback, whether good, bad, or very bad.
It's been a long time but there's also always a hope of coming back on FM. When da boss has a bit of time off and when it is safe for pirate stations to turn their transmitters on. Unless they give us a licence?

myspace.com is banned by our unmerciful firewall and my version of Windows Media Player doesn't seem to support the cpu audio clip. Party time here.
Doesn't matter, I'll catch you another time live.
