Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I was just wondering - would it be a good deal to fly to the US to buy a laptop? The return flight would be under €400 plus say an overnight stay for a bit of R & R. How much cheaper are the laptops there?

Not specifically to buy a laptop. If you were going for another reason, maybe, but if you add up filghts/hotel/meals and then the cost of the laptop, it's not worth it. Especially since the better deals are online.

definitely not. Although if you were to make a trip of it, it could be. Either way, you only end up spending the price difference on flights etc.

You have to factor in the cost of warranty and support.
An international cover might cost as much as the flight.

If you have to fly back or ship it to get repaired then lots of wasted time, risk of damage/loss/confiscation/VAT etc.

Also the whole US/UK keyboard, you are unlikely to get caught by the 110V/220V of the power supply as most autoswitchs.

And if you get caught by customs then you would loose the difference anyway, low risk but ...

And resale value would be lower too.
