    Hi there,

I'm trying to record an electric guitar and am having a problem.

I'm using a headphone out socket from a Marshall 10CD and I'm running this straight
into the line in on my Sound Blaster Live 24.

The problem is I'm not getting any level. It's more or less the same as if I
plug the guitar in directly to the sound card.

Where might I be going wrong? All the leads are working ok etc.

    Thanks in advance,
    Mark.

depends what software, your using but have you tried opening the volume control then hit option>properties and select recording as opposed to playback and make sure that the line in isnt muted.

alternatively you could use the mic port instead of the line in, just in case the jack port on the sondcard is damaged

    Thanks mawk,

It is set to recording / not muted.

I'm using a few things software wise. If I use Guitar Rig I can see a signal but it's very low and sounds like a really bad latency problem.
