Just over 28 hours since I had the job done.

First of all I want to say how good this thread was in helping me pluck up the courage to go about getting the problem sorted. At 31 years of age I was very reluctant to even speak about it but reading this thread helped me overcome that.

Anyway, I had a full circumcision and frenulum modification done yesterday. Went the fully private route and had it done in a private clinic under local anesthetic. It only took an hour for the whole thing.

After a quick chat to make sure I was sure and what I wanted done was the same as discussed in the initial consulation, the doctor gave me a couple of injections into the base of my penis . Once these took affect I was completely numb and could not feel a thing. Then he put a few clamps on the foreskin and went about removing it with a laser scalpel. I could not feel a thing and the doctor was chatting away to me while doing this.

When he removed the foreskin, he held it up to me and told me to say goodbye which I did :D. Next he went about cleaning the area between the skin and cautorising blood vessels etc. Then he went about modifying my frenulum by lenghtening it. Once he had all this done, he again cleaned up the area and I took a quick look before he bagan the stitching. It didn't look nice to say the least!

The stitching did not take long and then it was all over. He then bandaged me up and gave a script for painkillers and ointment. I then drove home.

The lad was still numb for a few hours but once the local anesthetic starting to wear off, I started to get uncomfortable. My first pee took an age as I was afraid of my life but it was ok. The wound was oozing as the badage was showing some signs of blood. I noticed a bit of swelling starting so I wipped on a bit of ointment on it. Off I went to bed but did not sleep great at all. I woke up a good few times with darts of pain as I was on a semi . A good talking too sorted them out but sleeping wasn't great.

Got up this morning and was in a bit of pain so I took one painkiller and put some ointment on the head which sorted it out. I then carefully removed the dressing as it was covered in dried blood and let the chap hang out in the air for the day. It looked like a dogs dinner to be honest. Very swollen and bruised, especially underneath by the frenulum and around the edges too. What I have noticed is that it's the old inner foreskin that it the most swollen. I suppose this is because it's so sensitive. Anyway, I re-dressed the wound as it was oozing slightly and went for a small drive.

I know it's early days yet and it will take a few days for the swelling etc to subside but i'm not the most patient so i'll just have to grin and bear it:eek:

Wow, fair play to you!! I felt woozy and almost fainted just reading that!

I can't believe how scared I am. Firstly, revealing my goods to a doctor and having him touch it! :-/ then having part of it cut off!! :(

I am actually shaking right now!

I really appreciate the advice and information on this board and have read through most of this topic. I am considering getting cut for purely cosmetic reasons, I don't like my foreskin and although it works fine and has not given me any trouble I find it thick, ugly and unwanted. I have always preferred the look of a cut c..k and am now saving to get the procedure done in the UK by a surgeon that has been recommended to me. As most of the advice seems to be that the guys here were circ'd for medical rather than aesthetic reasons is there any advice or support out there for someone considering getting cut for personal reasons ? Thanks everso.

    48 hours since the op.

Went to bed last night with a fresh dressing on the old chap and took a pain killer as I was a little tender. Slept fine but had the odd stiffy during the night. Woke up a few times but managed to get back to sleep. Much better sleep than the 1st night.

Got up this morning and had a wee. Took off the dressing and the swelling and bruising was just as bad. In fact I think it has gotten worse . Wound by the frenulum still oozing a little but no hassle there.

Let the chap out in the air and applied some ointment to it. No need for any painkiller today. I have found that the top of my glans has goten used to it's new surroundings but the sides are still very sensitive. Still have not washed the area as my surgean told me to leave things for 3 days at least.

I know it's only 48 hours since the procedure, but I'm worried that the swelling and bruising seems to have gotten worse rather than better. I'll see what way I am by Monday and if I see no improvement at all, I'll take a trip to the GP.

Just over 3 days since the op.

Not much to report. Bed was the same last night. Slept better but stiffies woke me up again. Small bit of pain but getting used to it. Who would have know that you get that many erections during the night :D

Got up today, swelling and bruising has not really got any worse. Just have to be patient I suppose.

Let the chap out in the air again today. Have noticed that all around the stitches is starting to ooze slightly but that was expected. Part of the healing process

Sensitivity is about the same, top of glans getting better, sides and wound are still very sensitive.

All in all a slow process but nature will take its time I suppose.

    Hi norrie_1001,

Thank you for your posts! Although, you do make it sound like hell. Are you in a lot of pain?

    Not much to report.

Swelling and bruising the same. Puss has began to ooze from all around the wound so I take this as a definate sign that the healing process has decided to kick in, thank god.

Took a shower for the first time today. It was badly needed :D
Gave the chap a good cleaning, think it made a bit of a difference.

Anyway nothing else really, hopefully now that the healing process has appeared to kick in, swelling and bruising will begin to subside.

I must go to my GP on Wednesday anyway to get certs for work so I'll ask him to take a look then.

Well it is now one week since I had the op.

Was at my GP yesterday to get certs for work and GP had a look at it.
Says it's healing nicely and no sign of infection or anything.

I have had the chap completely free of any dressing the last day and a half now and it is getting used to the new environment. Slight discomfort is all I am experiencing really. Hardly any pain apart from around the stitches, but that is to be expected. Just wearing loose boxers and tracksuit end and am able to walk and drive freely.

Swelling is still slowly going down. The wound is still discharging yellow puss so it should not be long now before that subsides. At one side of the wound I have what looks like the end of a now redundant vein oozing a tiny bit of blood. I'd say this little piece of vein will soon die and disappear and the wound should knit there too. If not I will get onto the surgeon.

Anyway, 1 week on I am happy I had the op done and have no regrets. All I want now is for it to heal up fully so I can road test it!

Ya mind me asking where you had it done? I'm due to get mine done in beaumont in the next month our two.
Decided against having the dorsal slit and will go with the full cir.
    Fantastic thread

    10 days since the op.

I have had the chap completely free of any dressing the last 4 days now and barely notice it anymore. Only get slight discomfort now and again but it's nothing like the first day or two  Still wearing loose boxers and tracksuit end and have no issue walking, driving or doing a bit of decorating around the house :D

Still a little swollen, though I would say it's more puffy skin at this stage. The wound is mostly healed too. Only a few spots where it is still discharging a small bit of yellow puss. Scabbing is happening at these spots so it won't be long before these spots are sealed.

I managed to remove most of my stitches today. They were barely hanging on anyway, due to them being nearly disolved, so only a small bit of persuasion got rid of them. Just a small stitch or two near the frenulum area which seems to be taking the longest to heal so I'll leave that be.

Not much else to report. Badly in need of cleaning the pipes though!

2 weeks and 1 day since the op

Only a small bit of scabbing left around the rear by the frenulum. No more bleeding or puss so once these little scabs fall off the outer scar will be fully sealed.

It will probably take a while though for its appearance to improve. Still some puffy skin but that again is as expected. All in all healing has progressed nicely externally and now it's the internal healing that needs to finish up, such as skin settling down etc.

Erections are no longer painful and have been sleeping normally now for a while. The head is now well used to having no skin around it and sensitivity is fine.

Have been able to clean the pipes the last few days as well. My god I really needed to :D. On the first go I was a bit nervous as it was slightly sore but i kept on going and shot a huge load. It was great after 2 weeks. As the scar was still a little scabby in places I only stroked the newly exposed head and around the rim and I must say this is what I have been missing for a long time.

Again I just want to say I'm delighted to have had the op done and have no regrets about it.

    Hey guys

Just thought I'd report back since I first posted here to May for advice. My consultant appointment eventually came around today. Was confirmed I definitely need the procedure. Got an appointment for 28 September and thought "yes, finally getting this sorted". My insurance company calls me within the hour (consultants office must have been setting things in motion) and says "you have insufficient cover for this day-care procedure in the private wing of the hospital and we're not covering you - but we'll cover you in the public hospital". Rang the consultant back, he said no problem but it'll be at least February before a surgery slot is available if it has to be done in the public wing of the hospital!

Am absolutely gutted :( could have had it done and dusted in 5 weeks if I hadn't such crappy insurance cover (crappy eventhough I'm paying 60 a month for it!!:mad:) Can't afford to pay for the surgery myself, which was given as an option to me. Back to square one again.

Must see if I can get a bank loan maybe - Can't go on with it as it's agony doing the wild thing with the bird!! If anyone has any recommended surgeons who do it somewhat reasonably can you please pm me. Really want to get this done before November if I can. This thread is a great source of info though. Would never even have gone to the GP had I not stumpled across it!!

was building up the confidence for a while and eventually went to my GP today.. this thread really helped to put me at ease..

anyways, the GP told me i needed a circimcision.

GP told me il have to be seen by a urologist BUT il have to wait a year to even speak to a urologist because the waiting list is so long.. :(

    has anyone here gone private?
    how much did it cost?
and how long were you waiting to get it done?

    Hi all,

Like most I have been reading thru the massive amounts of pages and have found all posts to be great information.

To my problem which is a little tricky, I am 29 and I first starting to look at getting a circumcision because I wanted it, then with my GF I picked up a nasty rash. Turned out to be a yeast infection from her...

Anyway while I was at the GP getting all bloods taken for all the tests, turns out I have Lichen Sclerosis and due to my old man Cirrhosis (spelling) skin condition I am a high risk and may have it around the foreskin and glads of the penis even though he doesn't have it there. However of late sex has become very painful and later as in the next couple of days very itchy right in amgoust the glands.

I am actually the only one in family who isn't concerned about getting a circumcision, and yes to all those gents out there speak with your family it might seem hard but for me they have been great very supportive....

I am seeing my Urologist next week, I am hoping that he agrees with me that the removal of the foresskins is the best option as I am over using creams and steroirds for the better part of 6 months.

I orginally came on here as I was looking up all the information about types of "cuts" hight/low tight/loose and i guess I am now faced with the fact of just having to get the best medically style done. While I am a "grower" I was hoping for a "higher" and more "tighter" circumcision for all reason relating to feel and making sure and its not painful when he starts to grow.

I will keep everyone informed as it appears my reason for being he is slightly different to some and I am sure that someone else could use the information that I will be getting.

    D

Vhi plan 1 anyway. I would say the majority would if it's medical and not cosmetic.

all the questions have been answered in the thread dude. For me, it cost about 1500 five years ago and it was about four months from initial GP visit to op.

It's pretty much cosmetic. Will they not cover that?
