In the arte novi clinic, it costs about 800euro in total

Seems to be a lot of guys with malfunctioning equipment. Myself included. Its amazing how the internet has shone a light on a topic that probably would have been not dealt with due to shame and taboos. Ive heard estimates that up to 10% of men need a circ, looking at this thread i guess it not so surprising.

That's not bad rang them last year said was 800butbextra for meds and then if needed a check before and tests add up to the 1700 probably of been better paying myself to go private

Arte Novic Clinic is €1,000 - €1,100, got it done there before Christmas and would recommend.

Just seen this pop up (pardon the pun) on the home page, some interesting stories here. I was possibly in need of getting 'the job' done myself as I found it very tight.

Ended up snapping my frenulum one night and it's been fantastic ever since.

I admire anyone that has gone through the procedure as an acquaintance of mine had it done aged 35 and he couldn't walk properly for weeks due to the sensitivity.

Done at 30 and ok within 10 days. Same super secret place in Malahide

Booked in for tomorrow in Malahide got a 2 for on deal lol. Circ and snip in one go. Could have got the snip cheaper but to have the two done in one foul swoop is better IMO as it'll keep me out of action for a shorter time. Anyone go for a certain style cut? Thinking Low and tight myself. Will see what the doc says.

    Hi All,

From reading through the thread is seems most people are getting the circumcision as a result of phimosis, I am coming at from the other side, I get infections of my foreskin / glans roughly 4 times a year, this has been occurring for over 10 years, I have had diabetes / std tests carried out and I have no issues there. I am just sick to death of the usual "here is a cream, use this" or "make sure your keeping yourself clean" I am a very clean person downstairs, not overly clean with scrubbing etc. I have seen 3 separate GP's and they always advise the same.

Is there anybody on the thread who has had the circumcision carried out for this reason? I have recently learned about BXO and I am genuinely concerned for my future health because of the recurring infections.

    Thanks

This is one of the 2 reasons that I got done. Yes my foreskin was too tight after a little accident but I was fed up buying creams for Thrush in the chemist every 2 weeks because of the BXO.
Since I've been done apart from a slight infection 2 afterwards I have been clean and clear of BXO

Glad to hear that argentum, I had the procedures yesterday. Had them done in the place in malahide. The doc could not have been nicer, turns out the root of my issues was an underdeveloped frenulum. Ended up with a low and loose as I'm a shower and a grower apparently. Also dark skinned down there so he said aesthetically the loose cut with mainly inner foreskin removed would work best. (just in case my porn career ever takes off)😂

Was quite sore last night, but I think having the two done at the same time was a good option. Could not recommend that place enough. The doc has been on to me a few times to check up and I couldn't get the anesthetic cream anywhere so he has been calling and is emailing fresh prescription to chemist today.

Looking forward to a healthier life for sure and with the frenulum gone now he said sex will feel different and probably better as it was dragging my head downwards during intercourse.

Can't thank everyone enough for this thread, there is, as usual with men's health issues, very little conversation.

Did you have to go through your GP or just go directly and pay privately? I'm not a fan of my local hospital. I'm in my 40s and my foreskin has been getting little rips in it and getting tighter and every time I "use" it I'm waiting for the next painful rip and not enjoying my time so it's driving me mad...

Arte Novi clinic in Malahide dont require a referral from a GP, procedure costs about 900e

If you otherwise want to go to a private hospital it would require a GP referral

    Hope this helps

No GP referral required, I went directly to arte novi in malahide. By the sounds of your description your a good candidate for the job. I had been getting rips, tears and infections for years, so stupid that I didn't just get it done a long time ago. Sex is amazing now, much better as I am not in constant fear that I'm going to injure myself. Best of luck whatever you decide.

    Hi,

Did you negotiate on the price? I inquired in the same Malahide clinic last week and the price offered in the email reply was 200 EUR higher. Thanks,

    Hey,
Been lurking this thread for a while, made an account a few days ago (couldn't view the thread while logged in until I went to the legacy site, weird).

I'm just curious for your opinions about whether or not I should get circumcised, and what variation.

So, I have a mixture of a long foreskin, and what seems like frenulum breve. The foreskin is long enough to cover the penis completely when erect. If I pull directly back on the foreskin, it goes back far enough to just about expose the very tip of the head, but that's about it. I can retract the foreskin further, enough to just about expose the ridge behind the head, but I have to kind of "fold" the skin back on itself, which seems a bit different to normal retraction.

It doesn't really cause me discomfort, other than the fact that the head's so sensitive that I can barely touch it with my finger. Generally, the skin stays forward during sex, and I make sure there's enough lubrication for the whole thing to slide without forcing the skin back or placing too much pressure on the frenulum.

The issue is that, as you'd imagine, there's not a great deal of stimulation this way. The foreskin moves relative to the head slightly, but not much, and even if did move more, all types of stimulation would feel the same anyway, just moving foreskin. Also, I want my head to be less sensitive, so that it could be stimulated through e.g. oral. It's not practical to try to desensitise the head while you need to actively fold the foreskin back on itself to keep it exposed and stuff. I'd imagine the head would desensitise itself gradually if the skin automatically retracted on erection.

Which brings me to the circumcision types - I'm inclined to get a partial circumcision, because I don't like the idea of the head being exposed at all times. I guess this would need to be combined with a frenuloplasty or frenulectomy at the same time to really fix the issue. But it could have drawbacks.

Also - injection in penis? How painful is that? lol
I've had local anaesthetic injected in my big toes a few times before due to ingrown toenails, and that was pretty bad.

I'm not 100% certain I actually have frenulum breve, or just a long foreskin though. Any advice would be welcome :)

So I need to have the circumcision done. The skin does not retract at all during an erection. Not sure what type of procedure but pretty sure I need something done to it.

I don't plan on telling anyone I am getting this done. Have some holiday time off work at the moment.

Question for those who had it done; any cowards out there? Genuinely serious. I am a squeamish type of person and not good with medical things. How did you get over it?

A bit of inconvenience and pain for a week. Not sufficiently problematic that i remember too much 3 years on.

I am very squeamish and, honestly, I probably suffered more because of my nerves than because of the operation itself.

It's not pleasant but it takes half an hour or so. I had it done with local anaesthetic so I was aware of the whole thing while it was going on. Like I said, its a stressful experience but once its over with, you immediately feel better. The relief is incredible and then its just a matter of time for it to heal. I was back in action 33 days after the operation and it genuinely flew by.

So I am just back after having it done in a clinic in Malahide. No pain what so ever which was great.
Explained I was nervous and had a few texts sent before hand asking me if I was ok and reassuring me. Went in and had the procedure done. Totally out after it but woke up fairly well. Not really groggy. A little slow perhaps. Took the DART home. Had a look in the clinic and my penis does not look bad. Waiting for the bruising to hit though.

Hey, I know there are a few posts about this already but I'm planning on booking an appointment in October for either a full or partial circumcision and would be very grateful if anybody who has either had it done or had knowledge on it could answer a few questions for me.

Firstly, I've never been able to pull my foreskin completely back behind the head so I would assume that a full circumcision is the only way to go? I've tried stretching excerises etc and have been to the GP who told me that unless it's causing pain then it would be considered a cosmetic procedure and I would have to go private, which is fine.

I am planning on going to a clinic in Malahide for the procedure but literally have no idea of the cost so if anyone knows, please let me know:)

Secondly, I have a week booked off work in October and I'm hoping that will be enough for recovery?

I'm not too bad with pain but have read that it is recommended to be sedated, how is the sedation done and what are the effects of it during and afterwards?

If someone who has had it done in this clinic could walk me through the procedure that would be great but I appreciate any feedback!

Sorry for all the questions and thanks in advance!

    Hi Jordan,

Only had mine done yesterday. The sedation was great. Injection into the arm and straight out Woke up one hour later exactly. Also went to the clinic in Malahide. Cost 1050euro.
I am swollen at the moment and not sore but just tender. I have an office job so I sit most of the day which is fine.
Last night was horrible as I kept getting erections.
The worst part of the procedure being done was the needle in the arm. Felt nothing. Went back home and slept for a few hours.
Didn't tell anyone beforehand I was getting it done and only said it after.
In terms of the appointment, I spoke to the guy on Monday and he booked me in for yesterday morning. Told him I was nervous etc and felt grand after.
Glad I had it done. Just feeling tender.

So it has nearly been a week since I had the procedure.
Can I ask other guys who have had this done how they felt afterward? I am still tender although the bruising has all gone. Where the stitches are is particularly sensitive.
I am getting very little sleep because in the early hours of the morning I am waking up with the pain of an erection. A little concerned as I was told one week after the surgery to start masturbating.
I had a full circ and a frenuloplasty done. the head is exposed but I haven't been able to pull everything back far enough yet to be able to see the stitches.

How was the sedation afterwards? I'd probably go for the same clinic (is it just me or is there a weird lack of private clinics offering circumcision on this island?) but I'd have to drive down from norn iron. Do you think it'd be plausible to wait a few hours for it to wear off before driving, or talking more an overnight stay?

Also be sure to sterilise the tweezers or whatever you use first with antiseptic and possibly even your penis after you do it. You dont want to get an infection in the cut.

I'm going to try to wean myself off from wearing the dresses over the next few days.

So... take away from this thread is sterilise tweezers with your penis and don't wear dresses.

I think I can manage that.

If you are unhappy with the cut, does anyone know if it is possible to have plastic reinstatement work on your foreskin?
