    Greetings,

Can anyone advise where I might source a recon'd 2.8 or 3.2 TD Engine for my 4X4. I feel that this may be a better option than trying to find a completely new used 4X4 as I am very please with the condition of the Pajero as it is now. But I need more power and better fuel consumption..

    Any Ideas

You would also need the ECU for the new engine assuming the wiring loom is the same as the current system!

Sorry for asking but what is an ECU.

And of course I would be informing the tax and Insurance....

an ECU is an Engine Control Unit. not sure if your Pajero has one. it's like the brain of the engine, controls fuelling etc.

Thanks for the info and site link...

Looks like I will have to wait and purchase a new 4X4...

As the 2.8TDi is apprx. €4803.14..

And I wonder what cost to have my engine removed and the new one put in place....

time to try the Jap Import sites and see if I can find a good cond. Exceed.3.2TDi PAJ LWB

Thanks all who help with my questions....

    Greetings,

    Just had a thought,

For that price above I could do some serious upgrades to the PAJ.

    First upgrade the suspension..
    ARB Old Man EMU. Nitrocharger

Also an open "super froza" Air filter, an upgrade to the air filter that is in the housing.
Much improved performance. but do not use for off road especially around or in water hazards.

    Then a Steerings stabiliser.

Next IPF Lights and reversing / Work lights at the rear.
And finally the ARB deluxe Winch Bull Bars..

All of the above should leave me with some change from €4803.14.

And then maybe I may see some performance improvements
