Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Can anyone explain to me what this guy actually ever did to get himself into pro wrestling?

Having gone on a binge of buying old ECW dvds recently, I find that I cannot any longer watch a match in which he is at ringside. The incessant whistling is just giving me a headache.

In fact I was quite looking forward to the main event of CyberSlam 98 - Rob Van Dam & Sabu Vs Shane Douglas and Bam Bam, but had to turn it off as Fonzi was making a point of whistling too much, even turning to the camera saying "you dont like it? TOUGH" (sic).

On from that, whats ever happened him? Is he still in the business?

Yeah his whistle annoyed the hell out of me too. The last time I saw him he was on Judge Judy with Missy Hyatt about some car ownership thing or somthing. Theres an image for you. Judge Judy and Bill Alfonso.

I never minded him too much. He's reffed in nearly every promotion going. Mike Awesome's brother. And he was at ECW ONS last year

I never knew he was Awesomes brother! Nice bit of trivia that.

I like Alfonso. He can work the crowd either way. He had a memorable match with Beulah once as well. A character if there ever was one.

Mike Awesome's real name is Mike Alfonso, so it is possible that he's correct.

The problem is they are spelt differently, plus this site (which is the be all and end all of wrestler profiles does not mention it), so I dont think they are

Like I've said before, I should really pay more attention to what I post here! I was told once that they were related by someone, but I checked it out and I wasn't too sure, so in all likelihood, they're not related. Alfonso has got a brother who wrestles though

That match he had with Beulah was entertaining. It was on WWE 24/7 when they had that free deal for a month on the website

Alfonsos real name is William Sierra (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bill_Alfonso)

Mike Awesomes real name is, as said above, is Mike Alfonso (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mike_Awesome)

I think I can see where some of the confusion might've come from. Mike Awesome wrestled in Japan as The Gladiator, and you can see from Bill's Wiki link that his step-brother wrestled as The Gladiator in America, although at different times. Maybe that's why I've heard it mentioned before, aswell as them having similar names
