Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Electric Razors

[Wasn't there a Men's board? If so, please move.]

Thought I'd give electric razors another try in the mistaken belief that one would cost me €30-50, so imagine my surprise when I opened up the Argos catalogue to discover that the range is more like €150-300! So, before I even think of checking out all the bizarre features and doo-dads, are they any good these days?

They have a reputation for being nothing like as good as a regular razor, and that would apply doubly to me because I can get away with shaving against the grain; and so get a very close shave*. Would I be flushing money down the toilet?

    adam

    * Blond too, so I only have to shave once or twice a week. Heh.

I have to shave everyday, and Iv been using an electric razor for about a year, but it doesnt get as close asa rozor and leaves a bit of a stubbly feel to your skin, which is the reason im switching back to regular razors. However, its much easier to shave with an electric razor; dont have to worry about cuting yourself at all and as a result you can get done much much quicker.

They take a small bit of getting used to, and different people find different ones suit them better, eg, my skin seems to disasgree with Philishaves, yet I know other people who swear by them.

At the end of the day you can't beat a wet shave, (I normally just just my electirc to give myself a little "tidy" say if I am heading out straight after work).

With regards to buying one, budget between 100 and 200 and you should be ok, the more you spend the better. You might also want to stick with models that offer a 60 money back guarrantee that way you could change it if you find it didn't suit, but be careful, there is more than likely a lot of small print in those offers.

I used always cut myself with razors. I used go into work and it was as if - I was returning for the wars.

I bought a pretty standard philishave. It is ok. It provides a fast and ok shave.

But I am happy with it - I am not a morning person and manual shaving was bad.
