Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Wireless Router help.

I bought a Netgear WGT634U from ebay a few weeks ago.
The unit was working fine(with a few little bugs) until I tried to flash the firmware.
Obviously, I downloaded the official firmware and flashed the router.
After that, I couldn't connect to the router.
I tried to Reset To Factory Settings(Hold the reset button for 20 seconds) and still, no luck.
So I did the more powerful reset: Hold the reset button for 20 seconds, plug out the power for ten seconds, plug back in the power, and let go of the reset button.
Now, I can connect to the router, and the internet works perfectly and all, but I can't get to the configuration page(192.168.1.1), well, I can get to the page, but here is a pic of what I get.
    netgearprob8nz.th.jpg

    Any help?
I am using the right password, and 192.168.1.1 is the correct ip, it says so on the end of the router.

Er, how did you flash it? (And, how are you trying to access it- wired or wireless?)
    Try re-flashing it again?

Paste a link to the applied firmware update, please.

The way I flashed it was:
    Go into http://192.168.1.1
    It asks for password.
    I enter password.
All is ok.. I can see all the configuration for my router, such as access list, settings etc.
I click on Upgrade Router on the left menu bar.
Then I have the choice to upgrade automatically(it connects to netgear.com and searches for new firmware and installs it etc.)
    OR
Upload a firmware that was already downloaded.
If I went for auto upgrade, it wouldn't find any, even though netgear.com lists 2 newer versions of firmware for it.
http://kbserver.netgear.com/products/WGT634U.asp is the site with the firmwares.(mine came with the 1.4.0.6 firmware, and I tried upgrading to 1.4.0.9).

So, I can't re-flash it cos it doesn't give me the "original" configuration page, just that which I have pasted above.

Accessing it wirelessly, but the internet is working perfectly, the only problem is the config page. I could access that no problem before the upgrade, wired or wireless.

When you performed the upgrade - how were you connected to the router? (wired or wireless?)
What are the contents of the config/ dir?
    How old is the router?

When i did the upgrade, i was connected wirelessly IIRC.
All thats in the config/ dir is:
    Index of /config/
    Directories
    Parent Directory

    Files
Index generated Sat Jan 1 01:45:00 2000 UTC

The router is only a week old.

I don't know the router, but you could try a more basic connect.

I used telnet to configure my Netopia a while back, I have a feeling that this will work. Connect to the same ip minus the http:// , username and password. Then follow the text prompts. Take your time to..

Hope this helps. I'm not sure if you will be able to reflash here, but the plethenory of options (even one's hidden by the GUI) will be available.

    Isn't nmap a linux thing?
    Windows here.

It's not as good as on *NIX... but it works. Any port scanner would do, TBH.
I'm wondering what options are option (TFTP,etc.)
