Lordi has won the Finnish national selection with the song Hard Rock Hallelujah and will represent the country in the semifinal of the 51st Eurovision Song Contest in Athens, on 18th May.
With 67,369 votes (42,2%), the monsters won with a landslide.
Lordi will have to perform in the qualifier round in Athens on 18th May, due to Finland's disappointing result in 2005.

What do you think? Heavy metal for Eurovision? :D
I've heard the song, it's very good.

Brain Kennedy has a record contract and he's representing ourselves.

    G'wan the Lordi!

Some facts about Finland at Eurovision: :D
    • Finland made its début in the contest in 1961, and this will be their 39th participation.
    • Finland have never won the contest before. In fact, their best placing EVER was 6th place in 1973.
    • The country has a reputation for doing badly in the contest. They have come last 8 times and received "nul points" three times.
    • In 2000, Nightwish participated in the Finnish preselection. Their song was the favourite with the televoters, but the jury had another favourite. In the end, neither the televoters' favourite nor the jury's favourite won.

Could Lordi bring them their best result ever? Perhaps a victory?

You know, you're right. Imagine two "alternative" bands being in the competition...Might make people think somewhat. Ah who am i kidding, I'm gonna watch this for pure entertainment!

So, Are Lordi just another one of these manufactured bands who have absolutley no history or are they actually a proper band?

I'm not being sarcastic or anything, i'm genuinly curious.

No, they're a genuine band, they've been around for a while and play at quite a few big european festivals.

Was *just* about to quickpost that, when I thought to myself What Would Dav Do?

I wouldn't trust Brian Kennedy to clean the muck from my hole with a wet-wipe, nevermind represent our country in a faux-celebratory parade of pillocks...
