Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Is there a LUG in Galway, and if there is, who do I contact, and how often do they meet? If not, I would be interested in setting up a LUG in galway, as I am on the forum staff for Ubuntu, and am a recognised member of the Ubuntu Linux community, it's my only OS on my home computer etc...
So could other Galway linux users get back to me?
I have an email addy, and an IM, would dearly love to set up some meets and establish a Linux users community in Galway.

Yes, i had noticed that already, and emailed the contact from it, but never got a reply, so i presume it's dead. I was told on IRC that the Galway LUG was kinda being handled from the main ILUG mailing list, but they very rarely meet up.

There was another small Galway based LUG called EGLU around 2002 but that has been dormant for years too.

Hey - eglu, Enthusiastic Galway Linux Users, hasn't been active since 2002 as leeroy mentioned - the site was taken down recently - but you can still seen what it looked like at the following address:

    http://web.archive.org/web/20030808111255/www.excentric.com/eglu/

We had galway.linux.ie at some stage, and a galway@ilug mailing list (which is still there if you want to ask to admin it)

We had quite a number of meetups - but the Gnome 2.0 release party was the best :)

You could ask on ILUG if anyone in the Galway area wants to meet up and do the same here. Its very disapointing the way regional LUGS either don't exist, aren't seen as needed or fade away. Our neighbours across the water have a prolific amount of LUGS including a Lug Radio (www.lugradio.org )

we should start up eglu again, unfortunately I live in Dublin, but Id be willing to go back for meetups, I'd also try to steer clear of ilug, as they all suck.

    I'd be interested.

Anyone know what other LUGS there are in Ireland? I know there's one in Cork, Belfast and MiLUG in the Midlands of course there's ILUG, any others? Is that SELUG still going? Should be a list of all the different LUGS so ppl can find out where there nearest one is and contact them etc

    Heres some links:
    Midlands (MiLUG) http://midlands.linux.ie/portal/ ACTIVE
    Cork (CLUG) http://cork.linux.ie/ ACTIVE
    Derry (DLUG) http://www.derry.lug.org.uk/ DEAD
    Irish (ILUG) http://www.linux.ie ACTIVE
Galway (GLUG) http://web.archive.org/web/20050313120225/http://www.galway.net/glug/ DEAD AS A DODO
