Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Hi All, Ok so hard dance Ireland is back in proper running order, few problems last while with people trying to register on the site but its sorted now..

So there is a battle forum at the bottom of the forum index, go and call on another member to get involved in a dj battle with you..

Links to battle sets can be emailed to me and they will be hosted, people wont have to download em, they will load straigt away.. its fun..

    Here are the battle rules

1: A competing dj in a battle must submit a 30 min mix, except when a diferent set length is agreed on by both battleing djs, keep in mind the fact that not everyone has broadband and the length of time for downloading, keep mixes to a minimum length if possible, the bigger the size of the mix the less chance it will be downloaded..

2: A dj must get the agreement of another dj to go into battle with him or her, there should you can post a challenge topic and ask for a battle.

3: Djs must "not" use any editing software in mixes, mixes will be listened to with great scrutiny before allowed in and if there is any **** in there that sounds edited, you will be shot dead.. You can normalise your mix to bring the volume up on the overall set so its not low.

4: Strictly no Classic anthem mixes, your cafe del mar's or your tdv the dawns will count your mix not allowed, dont get hung up on " is this a classic or that, we all know if a dj is gona try pull a fast one and enter classic anthems, Furbys decision is final..

5:No labtops, use as many turntables as ya think ya can handle,cd r lp

6: when two dj's agree they want to battle they have 5 days to submit a mix, once the first mix is submitted there is no turning back, and if the 2nd one doesnt arrive that dj loses by default..only exception is death, major illness, locked up etc..

7: Mixes will be left up for 5 days for people to cast there votes by means of a poll, people will be just voting for mix 1 or 2, this will help a little bit with people just voting for people they like, wether or not the mix is good, Voters please leave asside alliances and just vote for me, i mean the person you think has the best mix

8: These battles are not about winners and losers, its about compeditors, any jeering etc about any of the dj's will be frowned upon by this site..

9: Its better if the two dj's who agree to battle meet on some middle ground about a genre they will submit, there is not much point in two people battleing two totally diferent genre's

10: Its all only fun, you will be shot dead if you treat it any diferent..

    Let the games begin

    Why the bias against laptops?

What is the difference in the sound that comes out of 2 cdj's and that of two decks on a laptop?

well there is also no diference in the sound that comes out a groovebox or sampler and synth but then your heading in a diferent direction..

This is about turntablists not laptopists

But you could have an idea there, having a laptop mixing comp

not to sure if i agree with rule 5. i just don't think its fair, u could have 2 dj's one with 2 decks the other with 4... if the dj with 4 decks can use em properly then he'll win hands down....if its a battle it should be a neutral battle as in 2 decks, 1 mixer thats it

I think it should be no holds barred. Use whatever you like as long as it's a live recording. The best music / mix wins. Digital music isn't the future. It's the present. Use it!
