Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

It is like Google is trying to take over the internet a bit at a time. Ebay has had its community as the driving force in its success but Google is moving from the outside inwards. Its community is the net.

    eBay - Google Base
    Paypal - Google Payments
    Skype - Google Talk

Google will soon have everything to match eBay. eBay have the brand though. This is the jewel in their crown. It will be interesting to see how readily people will be to realise that Google do what eBay do as well.

The danger is that people using Google may not even have to be aware that Ebay exists. Think of the possibilities of integrating Googlebase auctions with Google search results in the same way Google advertising is done. It completely bypasses the conventional single site visit-search-find-bid model of Ebay because it could bring a user directly to the auction when they are actually searching for it. It might not be time to dump Ebay stock just yet but long term, Ebay could be in trouble.
