Ntl - Static IP request?

Does anyone know if it is possible to request a static IP from ntl for a home broadband connection? Is there a cost associated with it? Or has nobody here ever tried or heard of anyone trying? Cheers.

From previous post no is not possible to get an static IP address with NTL. But they do not change the IP addresses very often just leave your modem on, in my case is been months with the same IP address.
