I dont think you can, Smart use ADSL2+ and Eircom use ADSL. If I remember correctly...

This question has been asked before - you can use it but you will not get the benefits of adsl2 with it - it might be worthy checking to see if there are any firmware upgrades for it which might make it full adsl2 compatible.

    Smart settings:

    [PHP]Settings

    DSL Modem
    Connection Protocol: PPPOE
    Modulation Type: G.DMT(G992.1/3/5)
    Multiplexing: LLC
    VPI: 8
    VCI: 35
    Security Protocol: PAP

Password: Detailed in your welcome letter
    Wan IP: Automatically Assigned
    Default Gateway: Automatically Assigned
    DNS
    DNS Server 1: 84.203.254.34
    DNS Server 2: 84.203.255.34
    Mail

    Inbound Mail Server: pop.mysmart.ie

The 3347NWG is already ADSL2+ compatible.
Even though Eircom are not using ADSL2+ gear in the exchanges, the modems are compatible.
All the bitstream resellers have been supplying ADSL2+ modems for the last year or so.

i did every thing as dub45 said, but Diagnostics still shows :
    DSL Pass
    ATM Pass
    Ethernet Pass
    PPPoE Fail

You should be able to you use the smart supplied modem as a modem, and route it into your wireless router which you can connect to wirelessly.

If you go to the smart forums theres a few threads on what to do, etc.

He has a combined modem/router - that will not work with the smart router afaik?

From what i saw posted on smart telecom website, yes it should work.
On person had a linksys WAG54 DSL router, and was getting dicconnects, so he used smarts non wireless modem, and set the lynksys to bridge mode, (from memory).

as long as eircoms wireless adsl router has the same config options ... should be possible.
