Dumb alloy wheels question

I'm in the process of buying an 04 Mazda 6. It doesn't have alloys and I'm thinking of buying a set.

I'm not looking for anything too fancy. My question is whether I will need to replace the tyres too...?

Well you wont NEED to, unless you WANT to !

If you buy wheels in the exact size the current wheels are then you can keep the tyres !

However most folk take the decision to go up in diameter, improving the looks, and for that you will need a larger tyre, usually wider and lower in profile !

If you do decide to go up in diameter, here's a good link to calculate what size tyres you should get to keep your speedometer reading correctly
