96 opel astra problems

my banger wont go.. its a 96 opel astra,, i think it may have a dirty petrol tank,,, it started going slow,, and after a couple of days it was back to normanl,, then i put some petrol into it and it went ****ty again,,, complete lack of torc and a top speed of 30mph i found whenput petrol in with a funnel and left it over…

A chap that works with me has a similar problem with his 96 Astra and I think he mentioned that the petrol pump is the problem and it is going to be replaced. Might be a good place to start looking.
