    The most obvious thing is the days returning, the equinox itself that point of balance between the two as the dark half of the year ends.

    It is very much the traditional time to sow crops (also on/after St. Patrick's day), as the greater balance between the elements is more condusive to growth as the sun increases and rain and cold subsides.

    There's a ton of symbolism associated with this but I like to think of it as simply the earth fully waking up (a process beginning at Imbolc in Feb) from a long sleep.
