hi guys i got a Dell dimension 5150 with

    1g ram

    ATI Radeon X600 pci-e card

    350w psu

what would the best upgrades for this system be?regarding graphics on games.
far cry plays on high settings with no problem but call of duty 2 is only a
    1024x768 resolution
anything higher it kinda starts getting jerkie
budget would be around €200 mainly on the card.
    suggestions please.

That isn't really your computers fault persay Call of Duty 2 is renowned for it's crappy Direct-X9 engine which was a home brew job by Infinity Ward up until that game they have been using ID Software's OpenGL engines.

So in short their DX9 engine in CoD2 ran like crap on anything but high end hardware (Xbox 360 was also in part to blame they kicked the PC version out the door to finish the X360 version on time).

The best bang for buck you can get if you push that €200 limit is a GF7 7600GT for €228, it is worth it going over the €200 limit as it is the most powerful mid-range card you can get at the moment. It would be a significant step up over the X600 GPU you currently have.

If you wanted to stick with ATI then go with the X1600XT you can get them for around €212 but its not as fast as the 7600GT but not miles behind it either.

If you cannot go above €200 then a €167 6800XT or a €154 X1600 Pro are about the best to get.
