    An bhfuil a fhios ag éinne? Tá lámhscríbhinní san fhóclóir ach ní dóigh liom go bhfuil sé oiriúnach.

    Anyone know the irish for manuscripts? As in, what a writer would hand into a publishing company? Lamhscribhinni seems to connote ancient hand written papers. Or am I mistaken?

    I think 'lámhscríbhinní' would be fine. A 'Manuscript' is anything written by hand. It's doesn't have to be written on vellum by a monk in Clonmacnoise in the Middle Ages. Manu is Latin for hand and script comes from scribere(to write).
    Even if what you hand into a publishing company is typed, it's still refered to as the manuscript to differentiate it from the final edited text that is mass-printed by the machine. Would others agree?
