American rockers LIMP BIZKIT have split, guitarist WES BORLAND has announced. Following the failure of 2005 comeback LP THE UNQUESTIONABLE TRUTH, the nu-metal band are unlikely to reunite - with Borland vowing to concentrate on a new solo album. He says, "We're officially on hiatus, maybe even officially over. It's kind of up in the air. No one said, 'We're done as a band.' Everyone's just doing their own thing, and (some members) don't have time for this band anymore. "I haven't quit, but I've also decided to stop thinking about Limp. I'm not going to keep trying to breathe life into a dying animal. It just ground to a halt. "We just basically stopped talking. I feel bad for the fans that (might) think something's actually going to happen with Limp. It's not happening. "The Unquestionable Truth (Part 2) is not coming out. If it does, I'd be super surprised. But you can never say never. Anything's possible. As of right now, none of my future plans include Limp Bizkit." Limp Bizkit comprised of frontman FRED DURST, bassist SAM RIVERS, drummer JOHN OTTO and DJ LETHAL.

About time really, they have gotten progressively worse through the years.

And who could have thought that was even possible?

TBH I though the last album wasn't actually too bad. The Borland fellow knows how to write a big riff, that's for sure.

i thought they finished about 5 years ago. I am a fan of borland though, damn cool guitarist. They have some class tunes!

Can this be true....all I can say is horray - never liked the band at all - although I will agree that Borland is a mighty fine guitarist

Wes was always the only good thing about Bizkit. I mean loved them when I was about 14/15, even now I think there's still something in "Significant other" that makes it a good starting point "for the kids". But jesus Fred's a tiresome twat and the music lately hasn't been as bad as usual... it's been absolutely Dire.

looking forward to wes' solo work. he's working with danny lohner (ex-NIN) which is a big plus point for me

What is it about amazingly talented Guitarists in Bad Bands

Robin Finck is excellent, but hes just playing Slashs' material in GnR?
Wes Borlan should have been the next Slash, but instead hes been wasting years holed up with these Limp Bizkit ****ers....

That whole thing about the girl being killed during a set by them never helped either

Limp Bizkit WERE an amazing band in 1998, when I was 14, and in 2000 when I was going on 16 and they were appearing at the WWE every week (I still dont know how Korn influenced a shread of what they do) but now they just became a band forgotten by the times and, unlike GnR, they hadnt done enough in the early days to completely forgive any bastardised edition of the band that would pop up in the future.

Maybe in ten years Durst will come back and try a 'reunion' with some session players

Korn never influenced Limp Bizkit - but they did introduce the world to them - which Munky later apologised for (dunno if he was joking or not)

I liked them back in the day..13 or 14 when i was really getting into rock but not any more...didn hear anything from that last ep. The last release from them that i heard was behind blue eyes and that other one.

strangely enough, I actually started listening to them 2 days ago. As much as I hate fred Durst and his annoying vocals, thay do have some brilliant riffs. I really love the riff after the bridge in "My Generation".

I always thought john otto was quite good. He certainly knew when to place a kick drum and crash beside each other.

oh god, i really hope they are finished.

aye. i certainly think that lb was a case of "great musicians, bad music"... it doesn't help if you're lead by a fat, middle-aged, white wannabe-rapper who has absolutely no discernable talent whatsoever

quite like the sound of wes' new band, black light burns. there are samples up on myspace and they sound rather good. nice vocals by him too.

I agree Rubberbandits, John Otto is indeed the man. He formally trained as a jazz drummer,.. this gives rise to his very unique style and sound.
However in the past few years, he hasnt been all that well. He was in and out of rehab during the last album, but does feature on some of the tracks. Glassjaw's Sammy Siegler replaces him on most of the songs.

He is easily one of the finest drummers of his genre.

I just listened to a bit of "Chocalate starfish in the hot dog flavoured water" fo the sake of nostalgia and made this observation.
Listening to limp Bizkit is very similar to looking at heterosexual porn. When a heterosexual male is viewing guy girl porn he instinctively looks at everything that isnt the big willy. He knows the big willy is there but is much too concerned with all the girly bits on show. Now imagine fred durst is the big willy and the rest of the band are all the girly bits. Thats how you listen to Limp Bizkit.
With the possible exception of Dj lethal, he is a bit like the fellas hairy bum. You know the way you might look at the fellas hairy bum for a small bit but then decide against it.:D

Visit my website via the link underneath, you may enjoy some of the humour. Im trying to make it as a comedian. (That certainly sounds pathetic).

Dont forget sam rivers he is one fine fingerstyle bass player, I also think that wes borland and john otto are unreal. As for mr.durst therres no doubt that he can sing but hes a dick imo.

The more I think about this the more I feel that Limp Bizkit just simply outstayed there welcome, attempted to reinvent themselves, and failed. Sure their hardcore fans will be disappointed, but what can you do, Durst will come back with something new and a couple of years down the line they'll be begging him to reform the group and play at a festival in Europe.

    Nice.

a limp bizkit thread doesn't need any contribution, it needs extinction.
