Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Nice find, but it seems clear from the summary of the guys predicted sequence of events that he was merely taking the piss ( eg "22 mins: Crouch with a 40-yard header" , "46 mins: Reina scores from goal kick") so I'm sure sure he was as surprised as everyone else with the outcome. :)

And While We're On The Subject

As Mediawatch is, as was just revealed, a fan of the occasional wager, it was with some excitement that we saw the BBC Sport website headline story 'Fan Predicts 7-0 Win On BBC Site'

'A user on the BBC 606 message boards predicted Liverpool's stunning 7-0 win over Birmingham in the FA Cup,' the article informs us.

'The mystery punter, with the username "Messi better than cesc", posted their forecast at 1905 GMT on Tuesday - a full 40 minutes before the match started.'

    Spooky, huh?

'He or she not only got the score right but also claimed: There would be a goal in the first minute. Three goals in the first half. Four goals in the second half. The sixth would be an own goal. Djibril Cisse would score very late on.'

By this point, Mediawatch will admit that we were impressed. And that when we read 'It is not known whether "Messi better than cesc" placed a bet on their forecast,' we wished them all the best.

And then we looked at the bottom of the page, and realised that 'Messi better than cesc' had included amongst his predictions a 40-yard Peter Crouch header, Jamie Carragher's first goal in three years, an own goal from the injured Emile Heskey and a goal direct from a Jose Reina goal kick.

And then we realised the Beeb had wasted 500 words telling us about a prediction that they clearly hadn't realised was a joke.
