Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back a page or two to re-sync the thread and this will then show latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    hi.
i use mapopolis on my ipaq 4150 (pocketpc) but afaik it works with palm as well.

its 2d at the moment but i find it serves me fine. the maps are navtech based so they should have full ireland mapping in the coming weeks.
you can get the app and the maps at www.mapopolis.com.

most european countries are fully mapped though. a full mappack of europe will cost you just over 100 euro but you can get demo maps of all counties in ireland for starters if you want.

i pair my ipaq with a bluetooth emtac receiver which i got from www.expansys.ie for around 200 euro.

    hope that helps.
let me know how you get on.

Make sure that the GPS software you do end up getting uses Navteq maps. There's another company which produces GPS maps also (eg those used by TomTom) but only Navteq have been actively trying to plug the gaps on Irish GPS map deficiencies - ie. adding in all the 'unclassified' roads. The present version of the maps cover rural, national and motorway roads. Navteq finished mapping the country's roads at the end of last year, so hopefully there'll be a marked improvement supplied with the next version of various GPS software.
