Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Stunning! Kilbane dives and Gerrard is sent off.

LOL another Alan Green classic I assume. He really should not be allowed do commentary on Liverpools games. He just can not do a balanced commentary.

Gerrard chopped him down and deserved his Yellow. Kicking the ball away for his first was just plain stupid. Alonso is one bad/mistimed tackle away from an early bath too.

The 08 number is for Liverpool City of Culture 2008.

    Mike.

Why was Gerrard wearing 08 as his shirt number, and just noticed Beattie is as well???????????

This may have been mentioned before but i did not hear anything

It's to promote Liverpool's City of Culture thing for 2008, got special permission from the FA for them to wear it.

Sure the organising committee is delighted with Stevie G

This is a very messy derby. I'll be surprised if more aren't sent off.

For those who are watching, are Everton players (Kilbane) going down very quickly?

    Mike.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,617 ✭✭✭✭PHB

    Kilbane doesn't dive.
The arm was up by Garcia and it whacked Kilbane in the face, you would have to have super tinted glasses not to see all the fouls on Kilbane as fouls.
HE is causing huge problems doing what he always does, runs at you, and you foul him. MOM so far.

    I don't think so.

not particularly. For instance garcia elbowed kilbane in the face outside the liverpool box, kilbane went down and got up sharp-ish enough. It was a free to Everton, but could have been a yellow/red for the elbow if Kilbane had wanted to make something of it.

Sissoku has got rid of the goggles again, gotta wonder why he's playing at all atm, it's in NO WAY worth the risk for him to play right now if he could go blind. (i know someone who wasn't able to play sports again after getting a detached retina)

    Goal to liverpool(Neville).

    Silly boy Gerrard.
Kinda funny that PN got the og.

Don't think Liverpool are doing great, Garcia has been particularly ineffective.

Would like to see Fowler or Mori on at some stage.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 88,972 ✭✭✭✭mike65

Rafa will have been working on a comtainment strategy I guess the goal makes his job easier, as he can play a defensive formation and then look for a breakaway goal as Everton get desperate and throw Big Dunc on. Trouble is no Cisse.

Think it should be 0-0 but I don't know about incredibly lucky, Everton have not dominated like they should since Liverpool went down to 10 men, second half will be a struggle, could see this ending up 1-1.

Gerrard derserved to go, he should not better at this stage then to kick the ball away, the second challange was very bad, in fairness to Kilbane he got straight back up after it didn't make a big deal of it (same with the Garcia challange), great to see a player who does not dive\cheat.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,390 ✭✭✭galwaydude

Yeah, the Five Live commentators are awful anyway. I was in the car for the first half and from what they were saying Gerrard was hard done by and Kilbane made a meal of it. Got home at half time and saw it on TV, and it was the complete opposite.

Definitely two yellow cards and Kilbane didn't do anything wrong.

    Mike.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 38,247 ✭✭✭✭Guy:Incognito

Did Garcia try to switch that to his right foot in fron tof goal before he was tackeld? bloody muppet. From 3 yards theres no excuse.

He did too, thats a disgrace. From there you just get contact in the direction of the goal.

Pretty awful once there's any sort of a challenge on him. Cahill is sensational in the air though.
