bike not run in 8 months

    hi,

    i havent run one of my bikes in about 8 months.
    does anyone know what i need to do before i start it up again?

    i didnt do anything before laying it up and its been sitting in a garage the whole time.
    its a 4 stroke if that makes a diffeerece

    Charge the battery, drain the tank, drain the carbs and clean them, change the oil and filter aswell!

    ^ After doing above, turn the engine over for a minute or two with the kill switch on or the spark plug leads removed. No choke or throttle. This will help to circulate the oil before the engine fires. Will prevent needless wear.

    You may need a new battery - the old one may not hold a charge.
