Is this jersey signed by the current squad? Do you have to take part in the quiz to bid on the jersey?

  • Registered Users Posts: 7 hildabergman

It is yeah, by around ten of the current squad and anybody can bid...all support much appreciated!

  • Registered Users Posts: 81 ✭✭Montallie

How many per team at the Barge? And will there be a watch on people using mobiles? I used to love quiz nights, but they're kind of spoiled now because of that.

  • Registered Users Posts: 7 hildabergman

We'd like maximum 5 per team. We have a few friends who will be keeping an eye on phone usage and points will be deducted for anyone caught not playing by the rules! :)

It is great to see someone being pro active about the cheating habits of mobile phone users at quizzes. The people that use mobile phones should be banned from going to a quiz as they spoil it entirely for real quiz buffs. Please voice your support for a ban on mobile phones at table quizzes.

Come on down to the Turk's Head on Thursday 11th for a good pub quiz in aid of an even better cause. An entertaining night is promised, with decently chewy questions, randomish spot prizes, and a raffle to give everyone a flutter. Did we mention it was a good and noble cause? The cost is the standard €10 a head for a table of 4, and there'll be a band afterwards, and a drinks promotion during. Invite your friends and bring your workmates! It'll be fun, and all in aid of Temple Street, Dublin's only inner-city children's hospital...

Welcome to the first Movie and TV Themed Fundraiser Quiz Thing(ok, it could be snappier).
Know your movies? Know your tv? Then pop along for a fun night out. Even if you don't, with the likes of our video question round and chocolate round you should still enjoy yourself.
The aim of these will be to fund various creative ventures so if you have an arts project, theatre group, short film, film, web show, etc that is in need of some cash then maybe we can sort you out. Details on how to apply will follow.

This quiz will be to help fund a short film called No Messages. Here's the blurb.

Set in The Thomas House, Dublin 8 'No Messages' follows one day in the life of Dave, a barman who's stuck in emotional limbo. He's expecting an important phone call but arrives at work to discover that not only has he left his phone at home but his boss is asleep behind the bar. So begins a long day of hangover cures, irritating regulars and attempts to keep the toilets "for customer use only". And while Dave checks and rechecks his voicemail from the pub phone he finds that sometimes when you're drifting aimlessly that much-needed kick up the arse can come when you least expect it. No Messages is a comedy about enjoying today because you can't change yesterday.

The quiz begins at 8pm in the Gin Palace on the 7th. €10 per person. There will also be a raffle with amazing* prizes.
Come along, help something arty, try and win a quiz or just have fun.
Don't worry if you don't have a team ready beforehand as we can put you with a team. See? There's even a social aspeact. What more could you want? :)
    Mc will be Alan Rogers

Any limit to the size of a team and is it just pay in at the door?

This is the third in our regular run of the Movie and TV Quiz Thing.

Know your movies? Know your tv? Then pop along for a fun night out. Even if you don't, with the likes of our video question round and other random rounds you should still enjoy yourself.
The aim of these will be to fund various creative ventures so if you have an arts project, theatre group, short film, film, web show, etc that is in need of some cash then maybe we can sort you out. If interested send me a pm.

This quiz will be to help fund a short film called Dust. Here's the blurb.

Barney likes to keep a clean house...

It fits into his composed world of pressed suits, polished shoes and slicked back hair. A man who likes to keep pristine and presentable in all corners of his ordered life.

But one sunny morning while attempting to leave for the office, Barney's perfectly structured and immaculately stacked house of cards begins to slowly crumble and topple - along with his mind - as he rolls up his tailored sleeves to do battle against the evils inherent in domestic cleanliness.

Because Barney likes to keep a clean house...at any cost. including his sanity. And possibly his very life.

if cleanliness is next to Godliness then what is the polar opposite of that statement? What happens when the embattled forces of household dust mites decide to dust back?!

"DUST" is a short "horror comedy nightmare fairytale", paying homage to the bizarre and dreamlike European silent shorts of the 1920's, independently produced, written and directed by Keith Joseph Domican. Please help support this weird little trip into the underbelly of domesticity, the independent Irish film industry, and arts in general :)

    Brendan Dalton is Barney

The quiz begins at 8pm in the Gin Palace. €10 per person. There will also be a raffle with amazing* prizes.
Come along, help something arty, try and win a quiz or just have fun.
Don't worry if you don't have a team ready beforehand as we can put you with a team. See? There's even a social aspeact. What more could you want? :) Teams of 4 or 5.
NO USING IPHONES/SMART PHONES FOR ANSWERS. CHEATERS WILL BE STARED AT.

Am...it might help a few people though.

Are you suggesting that if you can't help the entire 15 million then there is no point in doing anything?

nah, i'm saying you'll need a really big table quiz. with enormous tables.

    Question?

How do most organisations get the questions for their quizzes? Are there people who make up quizzes professionally to sell to organisations or is it just a case of them appointing a person to make up the questions?
