Natural stone/slate on a partition wall

    Hi

Before buying the materials I thought I should check if I can safely put slate/natural stone on a partition wall. The store said it should be fine but didn't even have a wall adhesive for natural stone (assuming you need a different to ceramic adhesive.).
It's for an area above the bath that has already been partially tiles.
My questions are, can a partition wall support the weight of the natural stone tiles and where can I get an adhesive for them.

Thanks in advance for any help.
