Keychain and boards.ie login

I've only recently discovered the niceties of the OSX keychain utility.
For certain website logins the keychain seems to remember the username/password and autofill them (using Camino or Safari)

However, for some websites --- boards.ie and mail.yahoo.com come
to mind -- I am never even prompted to save the password in the
    keychain.

I've cleared the keychain (reset it) just to see if it was because on
some prior occasion I may have chosen for those two sites that
I don't want to ever remember the password. However, no matter
what I do keychain doesn't seem to either pop up or recall the
password for these sites. I wonder if any of the OSX users on this
forum have noticed this ? Can anyone volunteer to try this out
using Camino or Safari (I'm on 10.4/Tiger by the way). Are you
    forced to enter the username/password every time ? I've a dpreview.com
account and the keychain correctly stored and recalls the username
and password for that. Is there something peculiar within the
form HTML code within boards.ie, or mail.yahoo.com which is
defeating the working of the OSX keychain. Googling for this didn't
    reveal much for me.

    Any ideas ?

PS: Of course I can manually store password entries for my boards.ie
and yahoo mail accounts and manually futz through the keychain app
and copy the passwords back to my clipboard (having authenticated my keychain passphrase or whatever) but that's clunky.

For boards.ie use the Remember Me? option on the log in screen to allow Safari to log you in on each visit.

It's something that puzzled me for a bit after I did a safari reset.

Sure - but isn't the "remember me" checkbox just a hint to browser to store cookies, i.e if you clear out your cookies quite regularly it is gone.
The keychain is separate to cookies and it provides a safer way to store
and recall passwords based on the fact you have authenticated either by logging in to OSX or by a separate login to the keychain.

What is puzzling me is why some web logins play well with the keychain whereas others (such as boards.ie, yahoo mail) don't seem to.

Thats right about the cookies, I'm not sure what the deal is with regard to the Keychain and storage of the boards.ie password.

Maybe Boards admin can offer advice?

    Best of luck,
    Peter

Hi Judge. I'd recommend posting in Help Desk.
