    Close but not quite... no it's used for writing maths equations

    There's been work on support for a latex tag on vBulletin, which would for instance use code like [latex]a^x_n[/latex].

    It's not as yet a part of the official vBulleting code, and unlikely to be available on boards unless it becomes part of that code base.
