Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Not a great site, but a start. You may have to right click the buttons and "open in new window" or some such.

    Tunnel swallows Japanese firm's profit
    March 24, 2006 18:05

Delays at the Dublin Port Tunnel are having repercussions in Japan.

Tokyo stockbroking house Nomura Securites has warned that it is lowering its financial estimates for Nishimatsu Construction, because it says the firm is posting substantial losses on the project.

In a broker note, Nomura says it expects Nishimatsu to lose a further €2.26m on the Dublin Port Tunnel.

It also says the construction company's profit targets have been cut because of 'deterioration in the gross margin on completed construction associated with mounting construction losses on the Dublin Port Tunnel'.

Nishimatsu Construction is among the companies working on the tunnel that have claimed for extra expenses incurred on the project.

Nishimatsu Mowlem Irishenco was originally looking for €444m in compensation, but that figure is now thought to be €200m, with the Japanese company looking for €45m.

The claim is based on what the contractors claim is work done but not included in their original contract and expensive delays in the project caused by factors outside its control.
