Sounds like a puppy-mill to me.
Please do not support that kind of "business", do not buy a dog from there.

:D:D:D:D:D:D get real the lot of ye :D
offer some genuine information and ya get attacked for no reason only of course- weird suspicious narrow minded persons opinions.
i simply told the guy about the breeder plus if ye where on the forum long enough ye'd no i showed my boxer pups on the general forum ages ago and i have nothing to hide. plus i invited people to come see my premises. so refrain from scarism please, the lady i refer to has a high rep and standard with regards to her show dogs and (i aint her in case ye'r suspicious people either nor is she related or connected to me in any way). i simply heard about her and went to see her stud farm and set up.
i only gave the guy a name of a reputable breeder that he can go see and decide if his happy with the set up and standard. the choice would be his.

was only letting him no where therte was a breeder like he asked ok:eek:

Well ...with twenty breeds to choose from she' s bound to get lucky once in a while and produce something worth showing

And the rest of the mass produced rubbish she can sell by the side of the road for a handy profit ...doubtlessly inflated by her show dog "reputation"

    Sickening!

I mean, this sounds so harmless, ...high rep, standard ...

But picture it ...what would her setup be like:

20 breeds, that means a minimum of 20 different bitches.
Throw in a stud dog for half of the breeds, makes another 10 dogs.
Out of 20 brooding bitches at least some will have had pups recently ...throw in some 20 pups of different ages.
Now factor in the odd unsold pup (that either didn't sell or was kept for breeding purposes) ..add another 20 dogs.

These are minimum figures and when we add them up we're at 70 dogs already.

And now you're telling me that this lady is "producing" quality pups that are all health screened, properly socialised with people and around the house, wormed, flead, looked after ... These pups all stem from parents whose character has been assessed, whose health has been monitored, who have been checked, x-rayed, flead, wormed, etc ..??

In the middle of a melee of 70 dogs??

    Me arse !!

    It's a puppy-mill, nothing else

Thank you to everybody for their opinions but as I am an adult with a functioning brain & two eyes in my head I will make my own informed decision on how I will Spend my hard earned cash. If you want to debate whether or not the person is running a puppy farm start your own thread. I am trying to source a puppy for my three kids and well I don't think too many people are going to reply to this thread after you tore strips out of shinners007 for letting me know about a breeder which he says he has no connection with. I fully intend to check out where the puppy I buy comes from and I expect to be asked questions about the care & housing of the puppy that I want to buy.

You'd save yourself a ton of money, and a load of searching, by contacting your nearest dog rescue centre.

The people who run them spend time with the dogs, getting to know each dog's personality. The are therefore well placed to advise you on a particular dog's temperament. Hell, plenty of pedigree dogs that haven't sold are sent to them by puppy mills.

Plus you get that warm cuddly feeling for having given an innocent, unwanted doggie a new loving home :D

    Yeah,
I've already checked those. My problem is that my two younger kids are frightened by large dogs, so I am trying to source a puppy which the kids can get used to as it grows.

hey ger fair play to you for making your own decision.
apologies for going off the thread look everyone is entilted to there own opinion.
i breed boxers and boxers only myself as i dont have the facilty required to breed a large number of dogs. i know my limit plus my boxers are pets and play with my kids daily and are in the house and out side also.

the woman i spoke about had a fantastic set up that was maintained daily by her and three others, i mean she literally had three to four acres devoted to the set up.
she has seperate big runs for each breed and all her dogs are IKC with PB bloodlines, i simply rang her and she said i could come look.

she gave me advice on breeding and had a name for each dog believe it or not. the dogs all looked healthy and she had washing facilities for them where she fleas them also.
she said she's been breeding dogs for over ten years and i think she deserves some respect and she is devoted to her BUSINESS and is an obvious animal lover.
thats all i wanted to say every one is entilted to their own opinion and mine on visual inspection was that it was an excellant facility and the lady appeared genuine.

    thanks
    sinead

They would get over that within a week.
Why not get a small breed.
Remember those rescue sites anyway when you get rid of the dog in 8 months or so.

bettyboop: dont paint everybody with the same brush, genuienly disapointed you have had a bad experience in abbeyfeale if so concerned post a thread about it. not all large dog breeders have puppy mills aand hey dont be having a go at me i breed only one breed andthats boxers so back off ya:mad:

mountainyman: be a bit more considerate the op wants to get his kids to like large dogs obviously the ideal way to do that is by introducing a puppy to the family home and building trust, love and friendship all of this regardless to where he buys the pup that is up to the OP at the end of the day.
plus smaller dogs are known to be cross and noisy as in boxers are known to be a great family dog and i should know:cool: :D:D:D

You obviously didn't read my post above. Who the hell are you to tell me what I should do. I will buy whatever I feel is fit. Please read all the posts before you go steaming in with your goody two shoes, pointless advice. Your'e obviously an authority on the subject considering you are talking a load of s***e. Get a grip and stop trying to hijack a simple post with your pearls of wisdom.
