    england 94-3 after 17 overs

should be a tense finish if freddie and KP build up a decent partnership

Wonder if England will abandon using two wicketkeepers in the side and use a dedicated batsman like Ian Bell or Vikram Solanki - They cant really afford to go three down in the series

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 992 ✭✭✭mchurl

Solanki came in and only made 10. another disappointing performance from england with collingwood's brave 93 being the only highlight

only seen 10 mins of it today and england were 160 for 6 so i am suprised they only lost by 49 runs.still bad though, england cant compete in one dayers full stop

I think it is a malaise in the English camp for ODI's abroad. They never seem to tour well. Perhaps is all "after the lord mayors show" for them. They compete hard in the tests, and when the likes of KP and Flintoff hear someone whisper "one-day game" they want to go off the leash, but they are faced with quality ODI bowlers. Sometimes I feel that when there are changes to the England side for ODI's, it is required if not expected for the newcomer to impress, and for them, its often a load they cannot bear. The only person in the last 18 months to go from one-day star to decent test player is Pieterson. (Collingwood has been around longer on the one-day team, only now is he getting settled of sorts in the test team)

They needed Batty in yesterday’s game.

looks like another win for india,60 required from 90 balls, england need some quick wickets

    /note the opitsium:rolleyes:

Well this tour has been an outstanding success has it not?

stop!and theres three more one dayers to go:eek: this could get embarrassing

England need a decent openingpair of bats men and decent pair of (one day) strike bowlers.

they have neither at the moment

Final ODI England 289 all out after 50.0 overs. India currently 241/2 after 43 overs. Can you say 5-1???

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 88,972 ✭✭✭✭mike65

289 not a bad total so what happened to the bowlers?

    Mike.
