What do I do with my used car battery?

    I had to get a new battery for my 00 micra (€40 :) ) the first one lasted 6 years. what do i do with the old one? ie how do i get rid of it.

    Maybe the place where you bought it will take it from you.
    You can also dispose of it in one of your local authority recycling centres I think.

    My local recycling centre/dump in Ballyogan use to take them in.

    You cannot put it in any bin (grey, green, brown, blue...)!

    No batteries whether car or duracell can go in your bins.

    just bring the battery to any fast fit or battery place they will dispense it for you.

    Actually, do they charge you to take an old battery?
    I have 3 in my shed!

    Any of the recycling centres will take them for no fee.
