Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

A man has been killed and 16 others have been injured in an accident at a limestone quarry in Bennetsbridge, five miles outside Kilkenny city.

It is understood the man who died was in his 50s and was an employee of Bennetsbridge Limestone Quarries.

Nine firemen who went to the scene and seven quarry employees were injured.

They were admitted to St Luke's General Hospital in Kilkenny but their injuries are not thought to be life threatening.

Management at St Luke's have appealed to members of the public, if at all possible, to avoid the Accident & Emergency Unit for the next number of hours and consult a GP unless they are in need of urgent medical attention.

Anyone know what the hell happened?

The man fell into a silo of lime, and all of his co workers tried to rescue him, getting burned by the lime and firemen also had to be taken to hospital. they had it on KCLR, i think the radio have been breaking a lot of stories, fair play to them
