    They look awful.

Nike is sooo 80s wannabe American (and I don't mean that in a good way).

Cant help thinking of Michael J Fox wearing a pair in BTTF3.

How cool were the ones in BTTF2? which tied the laces themselves.

You do know Converse are owned by Nike right??

Anyway to the OP. I dunno where you culd get a pair like that but you could always go on to http://www.nikeid.com and try to customise a pair to look as close to that as possible. dunno how close you'd get but i'm sure you could make something you like at least

Maybe you need to do a bit more research on Nike and find out that they actually own Converse. I laugh in your face, FACT.

Aren't those Nikes the Ait Force One models. Find them in Schuh and Office for definite.

i suggest you re-read the post, nike's ownership of converse was implied

I can't see the picture, but someone mentioned the Air Force One. I got a pair in England last year for £20stg. I got the white with yellow soul and purple swoosh, I have since put purple laces on them. They're pretty comfortable.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 5,217 ✭✭✭FX Meister

Wow, that's a pretty good price. The UK used to be quite good for runners but we are starting to catch up here. When Nike reissued the Jordan 5 there was no way you could get them here. Which is a shame. I bought two pairs in NY at the time and one pair is still in the box. I'm a frucking geek.

after an unsucessful trip in dublin i went back and done some research on these shoes.

turns out they aren't nika air force 1's but actually nike dunk low's (odd name i know) and suppodedly these are pretty hard to come by, but i've managed to find a pair on ebay. here

There are a lot of fakes on eBay. I got stung with a pair of Air Max 95 by customs when they came into the country. http://ie.schuhstore.co.uk/home_normal.asp
Not the right colour but maybe you could change your mind.

You can get all the old school airmax on www.nikeid.com, and customise the colours.

Is there a noticable differance in the quality and durability of sports gear - eg. Addais, Rebok, Nike, Pennys?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 5,217 ✭✭✭FX Meister

Yeah there's a huge difference. There's no way I would go running in a pair of runners from Penny's. I have to much respect for my joints.

Yeah there's a huge difference. Despite the skanger branding ("Nike air Max, bhoyy!"), Nike actually make really good running shoes, as do Asics. Adidas and Reebok also do specialist running shoes. There's a Fitness forum on boards too, where you can go into depth on the differences.

Have a look on www.pickyourshoes.com , they have alot of different colourways going from rare to pretty common. Their prices aren't that bad aswell shipped to Ireland.
