Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I was asked to export email onto a new machine. Both machines have Outlook 2003. I have exported all the emails, contacts etc. but no joy with the email account settings. I know they can be typed in again but there are a quite a few of them and it seems daft to do if there is a method for doing it.
Old machine is Win 2K , new one is Windows XP.

EDIT: It appears that Save My settings wizard will do it ? Is this the case?

Internet email or Exchange server ?

There are utils to reveal " ******** " email passwords for Internet email accounts, not sure if they work with 2003 though.

I'm guessing (And hoping) that, at this point, you've typed them in using the 20 seconds it requires (provided they're available). If the problem is that the password is hidden, let us know.

The files and settings transfer wizard (or USMT, take your pick) will migrate the settings across, but I have seen it insist on not copying across passwords for that very reason. You may migrate all the settings across, only to be prompted for POP passwords.

Thanks to all for your suggestions. Went for the re-input in the end. Why is something like this so hard to do in Office 2003? It strikes me that Microsoft had it right at one point i.e. accounts transfers were easy.

Microsoft Office 2003 Save My Settings Wizard would have done it for you. Listed under the Office folder on the start menu.
