Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    OK

I am fairly new to networking so help me out here

We have a wireless network, which is going alright, all the computers can see each other and use each other's printers (the way we have it set)

They all work fine with each other, they can all ping each other, play online games with each other and no problems

But it seems two computers out of the four on the network aren't working the way I would like it to. They can ping and be pinged by all the other computers, and play multiplayer games with each other, but you canno't copy files to the other computer. You can browser through all the other computer's files, but if you want to copy a file onto that computer, or copy a file from that computer to the other one, it won't work, it will give you the message

Cannot copy xxxxx: Access is denied

Make sure the disk is not full or write-protected and that the file is not currently in use.

The disk is not full and the file is not currently in use

The folders in question are fully shared (I want them fully shared, and I know the dangers of doing this, but I am prepared to take the risk so I don't want any lectures over it ;))

By fully shared I mean the "Share this folder over the network" and the "Let network users change my files" are both checked in the sharing part of the folder properties

BTW All the computers on the network have XP Home, except for one of the computers which has a problem is XP Media Center

    Any help much appreciated
    Tim

What OS is on the machine with the problem? Problem is with your access permissions but I guess you know that already. ;)

Oh crap, I forgot to say what the OS was

The computer that has the router is XP Home SP2, one of the computers that has the problem is XP Home SP2, the other one that has the problem is XP Media Centre, and the other computer (which doesn't have a problem) is XP Home SP1

NOTE: The computer that has the router is not having any problems, everything copies fine from that computer

Also a bit off-topic, is there a way to share ALL the files on a computer. I know this is dangerous and know all the risks invovled. When I go to share the C:\ drive it will share it but you can't get into Documents and Settings, Program Files, Windows and probably others without sharing each folder individually. Is there a way to share everything on the C: drive, without having to share each file individually

Thanks for the help in advance,
    Timbuk2
