Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Battlestar Galactica on Google Earth

If you go to Vancouver on Google Earth there are some layers you can open. It gives you a lot of the locations that they use. It has pop up pictures. You can see Baltar's house on the lake, the Kobol raptor crash site etc.

What amazed me, was that some of the locations that I assumed to be deep in the Canadian wilderness were either filmed in Vancouver or on it's outskirts.

That's pretty cool. How did you find that out?

Just something I came across. If you can find Vancouver film studios (it's on the southside of the bay, directly down from the main bridge). That's where they film Battlestar Galactica. Right across the street is Bridge studios, that's where the Stargates are made. Not really a fan of that show but I do have a thing for Amanda Tapping.

You can open similar layers for Stargate.

I actually noticed this in one of the last eps of series 2, that the forests of Caprica look suprisingly like almost all the worlds the Stargate / Atlantis people visit. Then i checked where they make both shows and pat myself on the back :)

They never stray very far from the studios, if at all possible, the further they travel, the more it co$t and cost is the main reason american shows are made in Canada in the first place.

See if you can find the raptor crash site on Kobol (Kobol's Last Gleaming Part 2)-where Baltar enters the ruins of the opera house and finds the glowing baby. It's a spectacular site, looks like deep wilderness, in fact it's about four miles from the studios.

Has anyone else noticed the change in Amanda Tapping, she seems to have gotten 'bigger'.
