Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Regional cuts?

    Hey all,
I got the mini series and series one (both region 2) last week and I loved them.

However, on my trapsing around the net to avoid doing any work, I've found a good number of clips that I've never seen from episodes that I have on dvd.

But which aren't on the dvds I got - these scenes appear to have been cut. I hate when this crap happens.

Does anyone know exactly how much has been cut from the European versions?

    Cheers,
    Quad

There was a cut version of the miniseries that was broadcast, but the DVD version should be the full version. You'll always get some deleted scenes which will end up either as extras on the DVD or on the net somewhere.

I don't think those cut scenes were in the Amercian broadcasts either so it's unlikely you're missing anything important from the story.

I think you are missing waht is being said. THe scences on TV aren't on the DVD is what I thought was being said.

Sometimes it is to do with ratings. DVD are sometimes edited to get the the stricter video rating to be the same as the cinema version. TH ecinema version containg scenes not on DVD. Sin City being a good example. AFAIK tha same applies for broadcasting having more scenes on occasion.

Well from what I've heard the show is released in various cuts. For example the final episode of series
    two
is available in the length shown in the US and a normal length version. Since the broadcaster may not wish to allow the extended time.

from the mini series but there are definitely scenes missing from season 1.

Ah, I suppose I'm just a bit of a nerd about these things. Regional differences irritate me greatly - particularly when, if i'd known about them, i could have just gone off and gotten region 1.

    Why did you spoiler that?
